Houston & Fort Bend
Your home.
Your water supply.
Your starting point.
A Houston address doesn't tell the whole water story. Start with the provider listed on your bill, whether your home is in Houston, Richmond, Sugar Land or Katy.
Find the report for your actual provider
City systems, municipal utility districts and other providers publish their own information. Look for your current Consumer Confidence Report and check that it covers your supply. A report describes the system; a home-specific question may still need testing.
Separate your goals
Scale, taste, visible sediment and a particular drinking-water concern can lead to different comparisons. Write down what you are noticing and where: every tap, a shower, or the kitchen.
Compare softeners for hardness, whole-home filtration for appropriate media treatment, and reverse osmosis for a dedicated drinking-water tap.
Make the scope specific to the house
Before agreeing to a project, confirm who supplies, installs and services the equipment, the complete price, maintenance responsibilities and any applicable warranty. Include your ZIP code when you inquire so location and next steps can be discussed.
